54 Sometime, I wonder if we just don't get one another's spirit in the stead of the Holy Spirit. You get to a place where a pastor is real radical and carrying on, you'll find out the congregation is the same way. I'll bring you to a church where I see the pastor stand, jerk their heads back and forth. You watch the congregation, they do the same thing. You take a pastor, just gulp down anything, usually the church will do the same thing. So, if I was choosing a church, I'd choose a genuine, fundamental, Full Gospel, Bible church, I was choosing one to put my family in.

13    So I--I got to talk to one of them, and I asked him a few questions, and he was a real genuine Christian. There was no doubt about that, that man was a real believer. And the next man, when I talked to him, if I ever met a hypocrite, that was one of them. That man was actually... His wife was a blond-headed woman, and he had children by... two children by a black-headed woman. And I thought, "Well, now what? Here it is, I'm--I'm all mixed up. I'm a fundamentalist; it must be the Word, or it isn't right. And here's that Spirit, one rang out, according to all I know, genuine; and the other one was no good at all; and the Spirit falling on both of them. Now, how can that be?" I'd, it had me puzzled.

35  Another thing, the one, the prophet of Balaam, was fundamental, but the prophet Moses was identified by the characteristics of God. There was the Pillar of Fire, supernatural Light hanging over them. And there was great healings in their camp, supernatural God showing supernatural signs. And they were staying exactly with the Word of promise that God gave Abraham back in the time that both nations started. But, now, Moses had Abraham's promise, going to the promised land. Balaam, also a prophet of the Lord, standing down there. And the only way that you could identify, not from their fundamental teaching, but by the characteristic of God.

E-15               I believe Paul was a fundamentalist. Don't you believe so? And I don't believe Paul would do that without Scriptural authority. You know where I think he got it? When the Shunammite woman went to Elisha, and he took his staff, and said to Gehazi, "Go, lay it on the child." See? Everything that he touched, he knew was blessed, if he could get the woman to believe the same thing. See? Everything that he touched was blessed. He knew that, because the Holy Spirit was on him. And Paul, I said, being a fundamentalist...

280  Some fundamentalist come to me, not long ago, and said, "I got you on one, Preacher Branham. I got you one. You said, 'If a man was saved, he could never be lost'?"

281    I said, "That's what God said."

115 During this long period then, me studying and crying, thought if I could get out with them maybe I could find out what it was all about. Here's one, a genuine Christian; and the other one, a real hypocrite. Then I thought, "What of it? Oh," I said, "God, maybe--maybe there's something wrong with me." And I said, being a fundamentalist, "That'll... have to see that in the Bible. It has to."

58 Now, here, I--I--I'm--I'm strictly fundamental in the Bible. It's got to be This. See? And I said, "Lord, You know my condition, and I--I've got to see it in Your Word. And I--I can't understand when the Holy Spirit's falling on this man, the Holy Spirit's fall on that man, and one of them is a saint and the other one's a hypocrite. And I know it is." And I know it without... I could've took the man out and proved it to him, or called him out right there and told him about it.

232    Look. Here they was up there; here was Moab. His stay... No doubt but he was a bishop, sure, great guy. And he built seven altars. He put seven rams on them, speaking that he believed that there was coming a Messiah. Brother, if they come to fundamentalism, God had to recognize both of them.
